(. note for readability: by 'whitelist' for those who don't know, i'm referring to the list of acceptable words that you can use in speedchat+)

The fact of the matter is, the whitelist is very limiting in ways that can pose an issue to toons' comfort and enjoyment of the game. It's not perfect. This is a suggestion to help make it not 'perfect' but better.

The custom name system is pretty useful. It's nice to be able to type in a custom toon name and have that be what people refer to you as. The issue here comes in when the whitelist disagrees with the moderation. Unless a toon name is automatically approved, a moderator at some point had to look at it and decide: "Yes! This name is viable. It's not offensive or wrong." And yet, with the nature of custom names, it's not guaranteed that your new toon name will be speakable by other toons around you. This adds confusion, layers of obfuscation when communicating, and it's also hurtful---you might not think your name is weird but the game itself is saying that your name is weird by not letting people type it in.

Every approved custom toon name should be added to the whitelist for all time. They just should.

Agreed, don't know why they haven't thought about that. Or if they have, I wonder why it couldn't/wouldn't work. But definitely a good idea

Totally agree. Somehow they should have the names added to the white list automatically when a name is approved.
