Hey guys! I recently started playing CP Rewritten and i can say it's much better than the actual CP. Here's a photo of my penguin, awake! Screenshot by Lightshot And here's the picture of the current party that's going on, the St. Patrick's Day Party! Screenshot by Lightshot If you meet me, say hello!
I haven't heard about this CPR server until now- but it seems to me that it could make or break TTR. What if Disney decides that enough is enough and starts wanting to close down servers?
I don't know man, but that would be horrible. Servers like CPR are awesome, and i don't want something bad to happen to them. Especially CPR because it got the St. Patrick Party (idk which year from tho but i think 2009 is the closest) and the old rooms.
Why would Disney care, though? I mean like, these servers aren't making any money off of their old game they wanted to leave to rot.
Regardless of popularity, these people aren't making money off of it, so it would be pointless for Disney to take down unless it took away from their new mobile version. Even at that, they wouldn't lash out on TTR or any other TT server because they aren't doing anything with TT currently, so that would be pointless too.
I'm pretty sure that there have been Club Penguin Private servers that have existed, even before TTO closed.
Of course I get excited and try to go on, then I'm met with "Club Penguin Rewritten is currently offline. We're adding finishing touches - we'll be back in a few hours." (becauseofahackingincident) story of my life
I guess very few people are back on right now, I tried to create an account but keep encountering an error. It's been about an hour since they've said they're working on fixing it, hopefully it's not long from now.
I'm afraid to even ask, but what's CPPS? ... Looks like it's okay to me, but something tells me that it isn't what it says it is... After watching the "trailer", it seems that they don't censor things at all. I can see why it'd be scarring now. The rules say "No Spam or Sexual Content", and yet someone was saying "Sexual Content" in the trailer itself. I almost want to go on and mess with people, but I'm hesitant...
It's not that bad to me. But only because I'm not easily offended. There are racial slurs everywhere, EXTREME sexual content, excessive cursing, etc. Definitely not kid-friendly or for anyone who's offended by anything. I have a dark sense of humor + don't mind trolls so I can get past it. tl;dr: I would not recommend it for anyone younger than 16 or 17, and even then if you can't handle extreme trolling and controversial topics, don't go.
Yikes. It stinks that CP Rewritten is having so many problems though, I wanted to at least create an account, but it seems that no one can even do that. The CP Rewritten staff keeps promising things like "Yeah, it'll be fixed and back up in a few hours." Several days later and it still isn't fixed. A handful of people were tweeting at them with the same problem I have (Something about a pop up saying "Please use the register above." And yes, I've cleared my cache, closed the browser and reopened it, and even restarted my computer.), and a person with the punctuation of a 5 year old assured that it would be fixed, but they "weren't sure when." I'd take pics with the snipping tool, but if anyone's interested they can see for themselves on their official twitter. On the bright side, I guess the people who already have accounts are playing, and apparently it's running buttery smooth. Also, sorry this is so late. Been having internet problems where I am.
You can try Club Penguin Generations. It's pretty good. You can also try Vintage Penguin. It doesn't have registering right now, but it will have it tommorow. It will also have the beta party tommorow.
Running and managing a game can be really, really tough. Running and managing anything can be really tough. Things happen and sometimes complications may pop up. Try to just have a little patience with their team. I know firsthand how crappy it can be sometimes when you think you're going to have an issue fixed that a lot of your members are excited for and then something else gets in the way and delays it tenfold. I don't know much about CP Rewritten, or its rules, but I'm sure it's 100 times more kid-friendly than cpps. As for the punctuation errors, there are plenty of games that have staff in which 1. English may not be their first language and 2. make typos pretty often. It's poor in terms of communication, but it's definitely not uncommon and can be looked past. ♥ Also, no worries! Your reply timing was totally fine.
