I remember coming home from elementary school and playing Mario kart Wii online. Making Miis and submitting them into contests on the Check Mii out Channel. Or waking up an hour early before school to check the polls on the Everybody votes Channel. I'll never forget how scared I was of the Game Cube menu sounds. Or that startup sound. Whenever I'd start it up, the sound for the speakers was always at MAX VOLUME. I'd have a mini heart attack everytime I'd turn it on. But the best game from my childhood has got to be Super Monkey ball 2! I'd play that game for HOURS, and never get tired of it! I remember having my friends come over to my house and bring their game cube controllers, so we could plug them into the wii. I always chose the baby character, he was my favorite. Well, that pretty much summed up my childhood. What were your favorite console games from your childhood?
First console was an NES im pretty sure, did have an atari at some point but paid no attention to it Games like Top Gun, Mario (all of the old ones), and Punch-out are good Had a gamecube and WII at some point but didn't really have any good games of interest
When I was really tiny I remember we had a SEGA and I'd play Mortal Kombat 2 with my brothers (I was like 3 at the time). My husband and I recently got the Sega Genesis with all the games on it and I was playing Mortal Kombat and like...why did my parents let us play that? We also had a Play Station 2 and I think actually the literal only game we had on it was Crash Bandicoot Team Racing. It was Mario Kart but with Crash Bandicoot. It was a big deal when we got a memory card. On our XBOX we had a 007: Nightfire game that you could play with 4 players and me and my brothers (I have four older brothers) would play it for hours. I loved our XBOX but that one was probably my favorite for that reason.
I used to have a ton of console games, but the top two I remember playing alot are Sonic heroes (never beat it because the CD stopped working and messed up one level so I couldn't finish it) and the sims 2 for ps2 (I really liked the story mode thing)
Super Mario Galaxy was the first game I beat on the Nintendo Wii and will always be my favorite and lil me may have had a crush on rosalina
My childhood pretty much consisted of most of the main consoles from the Super Nintendo up to the GameCube, as well as the ps1 and ps2. I really loved playing Majora's Mask on the n64 when that came out, and is still one of my most favorite games of all time. There's way too many great games from my childhood, but some of them were Chrono Trigger, the Final Fantasy series, the Donkey Kong Country series, Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie, the Jak trilogy, Sonic 1 to 3, and most Zelda games.
OMG sims 2 is the best sims in my opinion. Mostly because you could control your sims in 3rd person view, and instead of click to move, you could freely move them, (idk why i liked this option so much)
When I was younger I absolutely adored playing Super Mario Sunshine (still play it sometimes hehe), and Mario Kart Double Dash. The original Animal Crossing for the gamecube was also a great game that i played maybe too much as a kid and I'm so glad it got me into animal crossing
Instead of my childhood games actually being something amazing Like Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, or various Nintendo games that weren't spin-off games. Most of them were liscensed games of movies that I loved as a kid such as cars, ratatoulie, and barnyard. There were mainstream games I played such as guitar hero 3 and 2 (2 is the better game btw even with awful covers) and GTA 4 or COD MW2 whenever i went to my older cousins house. Used to love mario party 8 on the wii and 7 on the gamecube. I also remember the simpsons game very fondly (DS and 360 versions.) I also remember various flash games namely Bloxzor and the Balloons tower defense games. I also remember the 360 version of tony hawks project 8 fondly as I used to just mess around and do tricks in that game. I've been gaming pretty much since I was 4 or 5 but 2017 was easily one of the best years I've had gaming due to getting various systems, therefore I got to play a bunch of games that I missed out on because I either didnt know about them when i was younger or I had no means of playing them.
Wii. That's a console I had since 2010 or 2011. I played it everyday and SMG2 is the best I played imo. It was so satisfying to beat the last level, it was a nightmare. Unfortunately, it broke in September 2016 but I have a Wii U now.
I remember playing console games when I was in grade 4. Until then, my parents kept me away from video games. I started playing with Super Mario Bros. and still love playing them on my Nintendo which my dad had then bought it from Press-Start. Getting a brand new Nintendo for my birthday was exciting though. He did set up everything for me and gave me to play Mario but now it makes me feel nostalgic as to how then it was so much fun getting a console in your hand.
Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Sonic Adventure 2. Now it's basically the same list, except I play Skyrim, too. Wow, younger me had a good taste in console video games.
