Since Pokémon is so popular in this forum, i thought, why not make a thread about Pokémon? Anyways, here it is. So, what's your favorite Pokémon generation? Mine has to be Generation 2.
Gen 4 was my fave, it gave me 2 of my top five pokemon [DOUBLEPOST=1475857696,1475857629][/DOUBLEPOST] Going off of story, my favorite would be gen 5
Since everyone is saying why they like these generations, i'm gonna tell why i love Gen 2... -Nostalgia -Really good soundtrack <---- my favorite song in gen 2! -Cloning -The Time Capsule was unlocked early in the game -Gold looked cool -It was cool -You could go to Kanto after beating the Elite 4 -Dark-Types and Steel-types were introduced -Psychic-types weren't broken anymore -Everything about it was good.. To me, that is. The only thing that sucked about it was how you had to do some boring stuff just to get the badges from the female gym leaders, and that they turned the Pokémon Tower into a Radio Tower.. But all that aside, it was amazing!!
I'm gonna speak in terms of the anime cause the games all feel the same tbh (nevertheless gen 3 games are still the best haha) I like Gen 2's intro the best (Johto Journeys) As for plot I feel like Gen 4 and Gen 6 offer some pretty deep stories. Gen 6 gets extremely emotional sometimes especially with Serena being a baby all the time and ash and greninja with their mini-evolution thing.
When I was younger, my favorite Pokemon game was Yellow since it was all my brother's had. Then it became Emerald, since my sister gave it to me as a hand-me-down birthday gift, haha. But I'd have to go with Gen 4 Diamond, since it was my first true and honest Pokemon experience, and I still love it and play it occasionally. The music, the nature, it all was just so beautiful and super nostalgic for me.
i grew up with gen three and who doesn't love the pokemon showcases from Ruby i loved it and won it almost everytime!
The first Pokemon game I played was part of Gen 3 (LeafGreen), but it's actually a tie between Gen 4 and Gen 5 for me.
How did I even miss this post ;( GEN 3 FTW - Pokemon Emerald is my absolute fave. I still have my Game Boy Advance Console.. I threw my NDS lite away though because the screen broke so I can only play that game on my GBA console now hahah got a 3DS tho )) 2D graphics pixelated is retro <33
I've played all the games and Gen 5 is my favorite by far. I loved the graphics and how they were slight 3D but still kept the classic pixel look of Pokemon (unlike the gross 3D models of today). Also, no more looking like a potato! Everything they added in this Gen was incredible- infinite use TMs, even boosts for EXP Share, Pokemon Center with the shop inside... it was all perfect. The story was so deep and really made you think as opposed to "omg stop the evil team". You actually wondered if they were evil. Light vs Dark, Truth vs Ideals, Right vs Wrong... all my kinda stuff. Loved the characters and was so happy to see Colress in the new gen. He was awesome. Plus they finally allowed you to link an old game so the characters could reference the other player character. That's something I've been dying to see since Gen 1. Where do they go?!
