Welcome to The Gag Strategists of Tomorrow! We are a Skype Group with a focus on playing the game in an effective but fun way. We are brand new and still in pre-launch, so we are still adding new features and coming up with new ideas. We are proud to already be home to over 20 members! We also now have our own website, located here. Disclaimer: We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Twitch channel GagStrategists. The similarity between the names is merely a coincidence and is not meant to play off of the Twitch channel's success. The Pre-Launch Team Our pre-launch team is now FULL. If you would like to join the team, please apply for a reserved spot. A big shout-out to our pre-launch team members: Nony (Nony) Super Romeo (Super Romeo) Mister Pancake WhyNotDB (Purranoid) Light_It_Up (Princess Bubbles Twinklemuffin) Apply Today! To apply, please visit our website, linked to in the above introduction. To apply for administrator, click here. Please disregard the first requirement for now. You will need to join the website before you can apply for administrator. The Rules **If you catch a member breaking a rule or have a question regarding a rule, please contact an Administrator, not the Boss. The Boss should only be contacted if there is a MAJOR problem, such as a rule-breaking Administrator or a group of trolls attacking group members. If an Administrator cannot solve your problem or answer your question, they will direct you to the Boss. Do not carry your problem/question onto the Boss before this unless, as previously stated, the problem is urgent. Please DO NOT report a problem regarding another member over Skype. Send a PM on here. Evidence of a member breaking a rule is not required when reporting a rule-breaker, but is extremely helpful and affirms that you are not lying. Video recordings are preferred, but photos and audio-only recordings are also welcome. Yes, we have rules. Yes, you have to follow them. 1) No dating. Toontown Rewritten is not a dating service. We do not support the use of it as such a service. As such, any players that attempt to date through our team will be in violation of our rules. 2) Respect all members. We don't care if you're on the forums, chatting on Skype, or in-game. You ALWAYS respect your fellow members. No trolling or flaming other members. Hate comments targeting one, but not limited to, of the following are not tolerated: racism, age, gender, in-game status/state, ethnicity, beliefs, and culture. Trolls, flamers, and players who direct hate comments at another user will instantly be kicked out of this group without the option to return. No questions asked. 3) Follow the TTR and TTRF Rules. If you get banned from the game and/or the forums, you're out of the group. 4) Do not abuse the mic. It is there for your benefit, not to be abused. Things like screaming, excessive swearing, and trying to pry personal information from people over the mic is considered mic abuse and will be dealt with based on the severity of the occurrence. 5) No greening. Greeners will be reported to the TTR staff and kicked out of the group. For those unaware, greening is defined as purposefully making other Toons go sad. This can be accomplished through several methods, including things such as using sound on lured Cogs repeatedly and passing every turn in something like a boss fight when you are full on gags. On this same note, do not attempt to work your gags in boss fights. We have an entire section reserved solely for gag training. Don't use gags that you know will endanger other Toons because they're either weak or irrelevant to the situation at hand. Also, do not shop for SOS Toons. "Shopping" is classified as leaving a fight because the SOS Toon offered is undesired. 6) Follow the orders of a person in a higher rank than you. Failure to cooperate with your superiors and with your fellow teammates is a no-no. 7) Do not attempt to force someone to video chat with you. Video chatting is unnecessary for our group to operate, and thus is not required. If someone pushes you to VC with them after you refuse, log off Skype and contact a staff member. We advise you to never video chat with someone you don't know personally. The Strike System To deal with rule breakers, we have established a strike system. Strikes will remain on you for exactly 30 days after they have been applied. If you get your first strike, and then get your second strike, the 30 day timer starts again. So, if you only had, say, seven days left on your first strike counter, and you were issued a second strike, the timer for your strikes resets to 30 days. Only team staff members may issue and remove strikes. Team staff members will never issue strikes over the mic, so make sure you are checking these forums regularly for PMs about strikes. Strike 1 - Warning: You've done something to break our rules that isn't serious enough to warrant an immediate kick-out. Maybe you were swearing a bit too much on the mic, or weren't cooperating with your fellow team members. A warning has no punishment associated with it, but action will be taken if the rule breaking continues. Strike 2 - 12 Hour Ban: You didn't listen to our warning and continued your rule breaking. Sometimes, a rule breaker will also move straight to Strike 2. An example of when this would happen is if someone was trying to pry personal information out of someone else over the mic. If you receive your second strike, a team staff member will PM you on these forums explaining why and informing you that you are not allowed to participate in group activities with us for twelve hours. Even after the twelve hours are up, the two strikes you have will remain for the set 30 days. Strike 3 - You're Out: Clearly the 12 Hour Ban wasn't enough to get you to stop breaking our rules. Sometimes, a member will go straight to strike three. An example of when this would happen is if someone was directing hate comments toward another member. Even if they claim that it was a joke, things like that are not tolerated and would result in an instant strike three. If you get your third strike, you're done. You will be removed from this group, and all members will be advised to block you on Skype. You will not be allowed to return to the group, and there will be no expiration date on your strikes. Any applications to join this group that you post or PM to another member will be ignored. If they persist, you will be reported for spam. Excuses or ban appeals will not be accepted and, if they persist, reported as spam. *As it is a common excuse, we're going to bring it up- any attempts at claiming that someone hacked your account or a relative/friend used your account and broke whatever rule you are accused of breaking will be ignored. Unless you can provide us with a VALID and OFFICIAL report detailing the hacking of your computer and the taking over of your account, there is no way to prove that you are telling the truth. As for the relative/friend thing, it may be true, but that's your fault. Not ours. If you didn't trust them in the first place, why let them use your computer? There are steps you can take to prevent your accounts from being accessible in these instances as well, so you really have no justification in using this as an excuse. Initiation *We are still working on an initiation process for Non-Skypes. We have put together an initiation process to deter trolls, spammers, and players in it for themselves and no one else. It isn't hard. In fact, it's a lot easier than most ToonTasks. In order for your initiation to take place, you must be on Skype voice chat and either the Boss, an Administrator, or a Supervisor must be online. For your initiation, you must, in this order: 1) Defeat a 2+ story Cog building of your choice, with only your supervisor to assist you. 2) Defeat 2 Cogs of your supervisor's choice. These Cogs will never be above Level 8 or below Level 5. Once you have completed these two tasks and your supervisor has approved you, you're all set! You are now an official member of The Gag Strategists of Tomorrow! In order to begin your initiation, please follow these steps: 1) Apply for group membership and wait for approval. 2) Once approved, your name will appear under the "Flunkies" list in the "Members" section. Members are listed in order of acceptance, so your name should appear at the very end. Look for your name and verify its existence on the list. 3) Wait for your name to move up to the very front of the list. 4) Once your name is first on the list, a staff member will contact you via PM. We will ask for your Skype name and try to work out a time to hold your initiation. If you do not respond to the PM within 48 hours, you will be moved to the end of the list. Please give staff 48 hours to PM you after you move up to the first spot on the list. If we do not PM you after 48 hours, please send a staff member a PM regarding your initiation. 5) You will receive a contact request from your supervisor on Skype. Accept it. 6) You will be invited to a voice chat session with your supervisor at the time the two of you agreed on. 7) The two of you will log onto Toontown. Your supervisor will pick a district for the two of you to go to. 8) Your initiation will take place. If you fail your initiation, your name will be moved to the end of the Flunky list. You will then have the opportunity to try again once your name gets to first again. You can go through initiation as many times as necessary for you to pass. We reserve the right to fail any person going through initiation as we see fit, based solely upon that person's performance and not anything biased or discriminatory. You acknowledge this right when you join. If you go sad during your initiation, you automatically fail. To succeed in this group, you must be able to hold your own. Your supervisor will assist you, but will fail you if they feel you are completely dependent on them for success. The Ranks The Staff The Boss - The leader of the entire team. The wishes and orders of the Boss surpass anyone else's, and their decisions on conflicts and problems are final. There is only one Boss, and she will remain in her position until she chooses to leave it. Administrator - The Administrators are the ones responsible for handling most conflicts and problems, as well as running individual sections of the team. They plan out things with the Boss and are the ones to approve or reject new ideas and suggestions. Administrator spots are limited. When one opens up, an application will be posted for prospective members. To apply, one must have a minimum of 45 Laff, Level 5 Throw and Squirt, and at least Level 3 gags in a track besides Throw and Squirt. They must also be active members who cooperate and assist their fellow teammates and display maturity and responsibility in their actions and choices. Supervisors: These people are regular members, with the exception of one thing. They have permission to supervise and then approve or reject a new member's initiation. To be a supervisor, a member must have a minimum of 50 Laff, Level 4 gags in at least three tracks, and have at least two months of active experience with the team, with the exception of those invited to this position in pre-launch. They must also show good judgment, maturity, and responsibility. The Regular Members Mr. Hollywood - The highest ranking regular member. Mr. Hollywoods have no superiority to any lower rank, as all ranks for regular members are equal. However, their status shows that they have been dedicated members for a while and are experienced. This makes them more likely to have the leadership of a section transferred over to them by the current leader when said leader must log off. They are also likely to be asked more often for their input and are more respected by the rest of the team for their experience. Legal Eagle - The second highest rank. Legal Eagles are only a little less likely than Mr. Hollywoods to be transferred leadership of a section. Head Hunter - The third highest rank. Pretty much just as likely to get leadership transfer as a Legal Eagle, but a bit less respected due to less time spent in the group. Mover & Shaker - The fourth highest rank. Probably the lowest rank to have a good chance at getting leadership transfer. Double Talker - The fifth highest rank. Very unlikely to get leadership transfer if a higher ranking member is online. Bloodsucker - The sixth highest rank. Extremely unlikely to get leadership transfer if a higher ranking member is online. Bottom Feeder - The lowest rank. Will never get leadership transfer if a higher ranking member is online. Flunky - A member who hasn't yet undergone initiation. A member at this rank is not allowed to participate in team events until they pass their initiation. Sub-Ranks Unless otherwise mentioned, these ranks are just for show and do not carry any special privileges with them. They are listed in no particular order. Pre-Launch Team Member - For members who were part of the pre-launch team. Reserved - For members who reserved a spot prior to the team launching. Veteran - For members who have actively participated on the team for a year or more. Section Leader - For staff members who are the leaders of a particular section of the team. Birthday Toon - A temporary sub-rank given to members for their birthday week. Make sure to wish them a Happy Birthday! Toon of the Month - A special title given to one member at the beginning of each month. The sub-rank lasts for the month and expires on the first day of the following month. To be chosen, a member must demonstrate maturity and responsibility, be very active, cooperate with their fellow teammates, and overall just be a jolly good Toon. Our Events *Our events are a work in progress, but we can give you the basic run-down of what we're going to do* Street Sweeps - A street sweep is where Toons go and defeat as many buildings as they can. This not only helps participants, but helps the entire community by freeing up buildings that may be needed for ToonTasks. If you have a ToonTask that requires the defeat of a vague set of Cogs (i.e. Defeat 30 Cogs) or the defeat of buildings, this would be a great part of the team to hop onto for a while. Also great for gag training. Lead by Nony. Gag Training - Need a specific gag track maxed? Need some inspiration to level up your gags? Want a gag-up buddy? Then come to this section! Lead by Super Romeo. ToonTask Help - Have a particularly difficult ToonTask? Need a building for a ToonTask but it's been taken over by a Cog? Need advice for picking a ToonTask? Then you're in the right place! ToonTask Help offers members the chance to get help from other members with completing their ToonTasks and getting further into the game. Lead by Mister Pancake. Sellbot HQ - Do you need merits or Cog suit parts? Need the VP but tired of asking your friends and getting stuck in inadequate groups? Join up with this part of the team! This section of the team will do factory runs, VP boss fights, and Cog grinds in the courtyard. Lead by WhyNotDB. Cashbot HQ - Want to experience the Mints? How about the C.F.O.? Look no further! This part of the team focuses on Mint runs, C.F.O. fights, and Cog grinds in the main area with the trains. A great part of the team to join up with for a day if you need lots of Cashbots for a ToonTask. Lead by zach4455667. Bossbot HQ - Feeling like some Cog golf? How about taking up the Clubhouse? Come here! The members on this part of the team will be going through the Cog Golf courses, fighting the C.E.O., and doing Cog grinds in the main area. Lead by Light_It_Up. Lawbot HQ - Come to this part of the group if you are looking for lots of Lawbots or some Summons. Members in this group will fight the Chief Justice, go through the DA Offices, and farm Lawbots in the main area. Lead by xboxer16.
