why is the community so bad

the community is bad because the only retort idiots can use when I accuse them of having bad gags and bad gameplay is "it's just a game lolz" gee sorry I don't have enough time to spend 5 hours in a cfo.

 

People who take the game way too seriously. If people would take the time to instruct people rather than ridicule them on their mistakes maybe people wouldn't be so uptight. That being said I think the communities in all games have become rather toxic considering its the "in" thing to be rude nowadays.

 

Hmm, well to add to my previous point people should take the critique as a way to improve their game play rather than an insult. LOL

 

What in the underworld is this buffoonery? You forgot the elves, fairies, unicorns, pegasi, hippogriffs, and flux capacitors!

Oh, and continually needing to belittle others is the stuff of insecure, small-minded bullies...not genuinely superior intelligence.

I think it's telling in of itself that instead of ever approaching me with legitimate discussion and well thought out arguments, your neck of the woods (I have no idea who you are personally, but the group you belong with here is evident) prefers these weak, often meaningless passive aggressive attacks on me.

Maybe it's because I only played Roblox as a little kid but I remember the pre 2011 community being way better than the post 2011 one

I do apologize for responding to this feed so late. Everyone has made some really good points for why this is. To give my opinion of this, I first want to tell you something I had done recently in the game. I had decided to try and restart playing ttr as two 15 laffers. Making it seem like I'm entirely new to the game. So far, everything seemed to be going decently. That is until one time I recently was afk on Punchline Place with them on the side of the street and this high laffer mouse attempts to push them both onto the streets and green them. As I decided to leave, the mouse had said something. Fortunately, I didn't have to hear what they had to say because I had speedchat plus turned off. Which transitions me to my next subject, chat. I always appreciated being able to type on the game because that was how I met some really close friends of mine. But I do like to keep my chat turned off nowadays because I wouldn't want to read what others would say. Not only that, but with toons that would try to get in my way, I wouldn't have to hear what they'd have to say either. Often times I would also notice that they'd deliberately try to mess with me and waste their time.

Once the game closed in 2013, many more players that didn't take the game seriously and did it for silly, naive fun did not move on to the fan server(s). Those that did like us were a very small fraction of the amount that played tto. I feel that a lot of people's perspective on playing the game had changed drastically because of this. To me, there was not as much magic in the game because of the change in population. Since we all basically have free membership, we're allowed to train as much as we can. Everybody now all knows where to go for certain awards, what districts have the invasions(and how quickly they populate for that reason alone), all these little touches that make people think they're the best of the best.

I do also want to make another point. I feel that the game has become very routine for players. The game is addictive, and many people will want to do the best that they can in the game to practically own it and show who's boss. Many players have become very cocky. To give an example of the routine I mentioned, take the CJ. Many players in tto would fight the CJ in a more light hearted way but also would have more difficulty in the process. Now, the best way I can describe it is that the toons are slowly becoming the cogs, like the game is now almost a work schedule for them. You would have one toon that would attempt to solo stun and then help out the others when the double points are earned. You would have the two fog rule go on in the DA office. You would have the one fog rule go on in the CEO. Yes, it gets the job done, but are you really having that much fun while constantly doing it like this? Some elements that Zucchini brought up has changed the views on how people play, since he took it so seriously.

I also feel that the community is not as creative anymore. They're trying new things, but it seems ridiculous. There's this entire thing going on where you would max a few gag tracks and leave others at level one while also building up your laff. I guess this is a trend, but what is the point in even doing this?

I once talked to my friend and came to a realization with them. I said to him, "have you ever realized that nearly a third of the game's population consists of small headed, small snouted cats with average body sizes?" He hadn't noticed that until I pointed it out. Not every player of this demographic is bad in any way, but it does show my point on how creativity doesn't shine nor is the magic all there. Allow me to show you a picture image on what I mean.


I came across this in ttc last week. Just 3 cats of this demographic standing together and doing nothing in ttc mostly just to get attention because of how they're dressed the same and designed the same. Also, anywhere besides ttc they could be standing. Such as, I don't know, ddl? Would you rather constantly see toons like this in the game? With no imagination? No creativity besides the name puns that even then aren't very good? Or would you rather see more diversity in a game where you have the option to be multiple toon animals? Since I chose to be a red bear and a fat bodied, fat headed cat with Toontown generated names, it quickly chooses people to target me because I look like a noob. Had I made myself look like an average cat, they'd probably be nicer towards me. Almost as though you have to be one thing or else the community is going to thrash you for it.

To summarize, we've wiped out the charm of the original game by inserting too much of ourselves into it and treating it all more like a job as opposed to a game.

But this is just me. Feel free to comment on my ideas.

Nothing wrong with it if you can play the game with them with no problem. And even then they usually multi-toon anyway, and even if they didn't you can just not do things with them. Now, if you just get annoyed seeing them

1) They do stand wherever they want to. You can see more people of that "demographic" in DDL and CBHQ, even TB. They just happen to be in TTC, which just happens to be where you are. I suppose if you were in DDL and saw them, you would say "Also, anywhere besides ddl they could be standing. Such as, I don't know, ttc?" Honestly, they aren't trying to get attention, because how would you get attention for standing somewhere in a video game? How would they being dressed the same impact how people see them?

2) Now you say they have no imagination/creativity. What makes you think that? They are just wearing there toon clothes and playing a video game. Not everyone has to play the way you want them to. You are pretty much saying, "since you aren't different animals, you arent creative!" And that statement is completely wrong.

3) Depends. Usually is the other way around, with people calling the people of your so called "demographic" "elitist" which is really the other way around lol if anything. Then sometimes these people might be rude to others, like greening, but that is found is ALL groups of people. If you pull from what people from DDL are saying, that means you didn't get there in time to know what they are actually talking about. So much people, people with the same opinions as you, are just plain out rude to some of these people. Then people side with them for some reason, which is why people always say these type of people are "rude"

 

Yeah there are a fair few toxic players I have encountered, but recently a lot of really awesome friendly people, I am a friendly toon, find me in game and feel free to talk to me (Sir Popcorn)

 

I’m helping other, mainly even before I do my own tasks, I should probably start focusing on my own tasks more

 

I doubt someone was shot for Greening their friend

 

I think they are extra sensitive because they understand how lucky they are to still be able to play this game
